Director of Product Reliability and Characterization, Memory Products

The Role

Manager of team responsible for bringing all new MRAM products to market involving pre-Si design spec definitions; first Si verification; datasheet spec validation; developing wafer sort, final test and characterization programs and reliability characterization. Group responsibilities include working with Design and Operations teams to create and execute characterization and debug plans for circuit validation, screen development and debug of any non-conformance. Additionally, the group works with the Process and Device teams to develop a yield pareto correlating wafer sort and final test failure mechanisms to bit properties thus defining a path to yield improvement. In addition, during the qualification phase, group responsibilities involve reliability/technology certification (both standard JEDEC and technology specific stresses).

The job responsibilities are as follows:

  • STT-MRAM product and reliability characterization
  • First silicon validation, debug, and qualification
  • Ability to lead a teams and projects
  • Thrive working in a cross functional environment to define and execute product characterization and validation plans
  • Knowledge of magnetic tunnel junction (MTJ) materials and devices
  • Knowledge of memory test and qualification
  • Ability to manage and communicate product qualification plans, timelines, status, and results both internally and to external vendors
  • Technical point of contact with OEMs and customers

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Physics, Materials Science, or Electrical Engineering
  • 10+ years of post-graduate magnetic product or R&D experience, or 10+ years of memory product or R&D experience, or equivalent education and experience is required.
  • Demonstrated track record of product spec validation, reliability characterization, and qualification
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in team environment

Maintenance Technician

The Role

Reporting to the Production Manager and based in our Chandler, Arizona location. Working with our Fab operations team, s/he will work Equipment Engineering for innovative memory products.

The job responsibilities are as follows:

  • Be part of a team that owns equipment performance necessary to meet current and future manufacturing requirements.
  • Sustaining - lead troubleshooting efforts, manage critical part inventory, direct supplier activities, responsive to SPC/ FDC excursions, writing specifications, training maintenance techs.
  • Develop solutions to problems utilizing formal education, statistical knowledge, and problem solving tools.
  • Forming/executing plans for continuous improvements, implementing hardware/software upgrades, developing preventative actions to SPC/ FDC excursions.
  • Drive improvements on quality, reliability, cost, yield, process stability/capability, productivity and safety.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • B.S. or higher Degree in Science or Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the semiconductor field, especially in etch equipment operations.
  • Familiarity with AMAT Centura 5200 platforms, dielectric and metal etcher, Gasonics Ashers, Wafer cleans is a plus.
  • Perform required PMs and actively drive improvements using FDC and parts quality management.
  • Experience sustaining and improving performance of semiconductor etch equipment operations such as: dielectric/metal etches, resist strip. Must understand relationship of equipment factors to process controls. Working in a fab in integrated chip process development.
  • Ability to generate, analyze, and interpret equipment performance data and produce a timely action plan to resolve recurring equipment failures.
  • Ability to deal with multiple issues and shifting priorities.
  • Exhibit good and open communication skills; be able to work within cross-functional teams.

Sr Digital Design Engineer

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Director, and based in our Austin, Texas location, the Sr Digital Design Engineer will work in the design team for innovative memory product design.

The job responsibilities are as follows:

  • Be part of a team that owns equipment performance necessary to meet current and future manufacturing requirements.
  • RTL design from taking product specification to defining micro-architecture, block specification, and developing IP.
  • Hands-on work and drive various phases of RTL2GDS flow including with synthesis, logic equivalency, and timing constraint development
  • Interact with Place and Route, Static Timing Analysis to drive best implementation for floor planning, clock tree design, timing closure, and low power
  • Work with verification for coverage improvement and design debug
  • Knowledge of memory interface protocols, such as SPI and DDR

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science required

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in digital design or MS/PhD degree with relevant course work preferred.

  • Proficient in scripting languages, e.g. Tcl and Python

Analog Design Engineer

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Director, and based in our Austin, Texas location, the Sr Digital Design Engineer will work in the design team for innovative memory product design.

The job responsibilities are as follows:

  • Work with analog team members for memory array design, understanding array bias requirements, and developing the architecture
  • Hands-on work and ownership of multiple analog circuit building blocks, such as sense amplifiers, write and wordline drivers, charge pumps, bandgaps, op-amps, voltage regulators, IO drivers & receivers, oscillators, power supply detectors, and current distribution networks
  • Drive low power, low noise design techniques, and high precision bias techniques in presence of device mismatch and process variation
  • Work with product and test engineers for test plans and reviewing lab test results to drive bug fixes and yield improvements
  • Run analog design verification flows (e.g. spice, fast-spice, electromigration, IR drop, aging, etc.) to verify a design is ready for tape-out
  • Document design simulation and verification for formal design reviews
  • Support layout designers and drive final layout through post-layout and top-level simulations to validate top-level integration.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • MS or higher degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science desired
  • Experience in analog circuit design with a proven track record of bias circuits/system design in silicon
  • Deep understanding of transistor operation, device physics, and analog design techniques
  • Strong circuit analysis skills (e.g., AC/DC/Transient circuit analysis, small signal circuit techniques, feedback compensation, statistics, etc.)
  • Knowledge of memory interface protocols, such as SPI and DDR, and Cadence tools preferred but not required.
  • Must have strong communication skills and be a team player
