Aerospace & Defense

Everspin MRAM is engineered for aerospace and defense.

Offering radiation tolerance, high endurance, wide operating temperature range from –40°C to 125°C, and rapid read/write speeds, it is ideal for mission-critical environments – especially space missions including satellites in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and beyond.

Our MRAM technology has been field- and space-proven for more than 15 years. The Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) availability of Everspin MRAM helps reduce design and qualification cycles for aerospace and defense clients, accelerating deployment of robust memory solutions. As the only U.S. domestic, commercial MRAM supplier, Everspin supports national security requirements by providing a trusted and stable supply chain for defense contractors.

MRAM for Radiation-hard Markets

End-User Examples

Everspin MRAM is integrated into aerospace and defense systems to provide dependable, radiation-hardened non-volatile memory that supports critical operations under extreme conditions, ensuring mission success and long-term reliability. Its fast read/write capability (400 MB/s via xSPI) and re-programmability enable over-the-air (OTA) updates with near unlimited endurance, vital for evolving aerospace and defense needs. Everspin MRAM is increasingly integrated into Strategic Radiation Hardened (SRH) high-reliability Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) through partnerships with leading space systems providers such as QuickLogic and Honeywell.

Satellite & Mission Support Systems

Everspin’s PERSYST MRAM delivers reliable data storage, protecting command sequences and critical telemetry data for processors within satellite systems, such as Astro Digital’s Flight Control Computer.

LEO Satellites

Everspin's 4Mbit MRAM is used in the Tohoku-AAC MEMS Unit (TAMU), an advanced magnetometer subsystem supporting ÅAC Microtec’s SpriteSat (Rising) satellite. MRAM was chosen to replace both Flash and battery-backed SRAM.

Communications

MRAM provides long data retention, security and reliability for radios used in harsh conditions and extreme temperatures.

Spacecrafts

Everspin MRAM can be found in spacecrafts such as Blue Origin’s Blue Moon MK1, chosen for its over-the-air re-programmability that enables
fast updates and system reconfigurations without endurance limits.
